I know I am not alone when I say that often when I want to play no one is on. A few years back there was a one player mode where you could fight your way up 20 or so ranks and win the title. It was a valuable tool to work on your skills. For new players it also gives them a chance to get their feet wet without having to take 130 losses before they get a win.

its not the size of the dog in the fight...its the size of the fight in the dog

I agree its hard for new users attracted to OB to be able to get better playing more experienced boxers that are way over matched. Im my opinion i strongly believe itd attract new people to OB over time and keep people playing on a consistant basis..

Singleplayer was always a good asset to OB and I still wonder why Mikkel took it off.

"John represents the renaissance of OB. John stepped up and filled the vacuum Fatny left behind. Not only his skills are amazing, also his dedication to keep this game interesting and alive. I was there when he first won the title, I was watching over his shoulder when he bullied all competition, I was there when he became a HOF´er. I may not be a great fighter myself, but I do have eye for talent. John is something special, I told him right after he won his first title. John is the spark that became a flame that turned into a devastating fire. Apart from being a great guy he never stepped down from a challenge and always looked to square off against OB´s best to further improve his skills. Many HOF´ers made short comebacks during the year John reigned OB, only to be knocked out by Big Bad John." - Dick E. Boon

"The thing with John is that he's just so extremely accurate, both in offense and in defense. There's some punches I consider myself a master of, like the small hook and the long upper. Well they're useless against John no matter how well you throw them, he just keeps blocking 90% of them and hurting you in the process. Speaking of which...if he hurts you (and he will), you better move your head a lot because he also happens to be one of the best finishers i've ever seen. Basically if you're not extremely good AND creative, you'll end up on the floor. A fine addition to the hall of fame indeed." - Fatny

Whats up with this game? 3 rooms but just 1 room with ranking is on the mainpage. No singleplayer. Players are running away because they recognize that there is no development. Someone updates this game? Or is this game about to die? Is there a team behind this game that cares?

i totally agree about bringing back practice mode it would help a lot for new comers, uprising boxers, and even legends. Beyond that I still gotta give props to mikkel for keeping this game going all this time and all the hard work hes put into not just 2d, but 3D as well thank you. I think its time OB gets serious create and unite some chemistry for the games sake. And overtime we should all do our own part to help resurect online boxing again and make the game well known and liked across the world and the world wide web.

I was not satisfied with the bot..it was too easy for vets, and too hard for nobs. I don't have a lot of time time now, but I'll look into it.

I'm still updating the game, but not as often as I used to. The 3 rooms will be available on the front page sooner or later.

Add a mobile version of OB to your list of projects mikkel ^^

I think 2D's gameplay is good enough and the game is light enough to be a good fit in the apple store and all these phone stores.

Would be good enough to sell for 3$-4$ per download, would just need prettier graphics and a few tweaks here and there, plus all the work that i know nothing about related to making a game mobile.

That's like the only game they have for boxing, a simple single player copy of punchout.

Then if you ever make that you need to realise that although you're a good programmer, you stink at web marketing! And you find someone like me that knows it enough to make something popular online (but not me as i'm already doing that full time).

Think of it like an associate. Say you're happy with 3$ a download for OB, you let him market it at 4$ or 4.50$ and he keeps the cut from all his sales.

I'm already doing that too much. Say you work 10 hours a day as a phone game programmer for a company, in the evenings you'll want to do other things than phone game programming.

But yeah you just find a buddy that's good at making websites, writing stuff all over and managing social networks, and you give him a cut.

mikkel this game is still popular with those who know about it because its damn near perfect just the way it is. i love how every punch has a counter and there is a defense for every punch. before we start talking making money how bout we work on getting more players. also regaurdless of the bots ...1player with suspect bots is better than none at all. all new players have to look forward to is a quick ass whipn. a whole bunch of em. i cant imagine how many players might have stayed if they could learn how to fight before getting thrown into the ocean with huge sharks.
