7.5 Presentation
The venues look cool enough and the entrance music brings it all to life nicely. The documentary that’s built in to the career is a cool idea if not a bit limiting.
6.0 Graphics
Boxer models don’t look all that great and the animations try to help but fail miserably.
7.5 Sound
Great entrance music that stays varied throughout the game thanks to a progressive unlock system. Corner men sound stupid and the punches don’t pack much of a wallop.
4.5 Gameplay
The animations betray the sport of boxing from the onset. Collision detection is way off and everything looks stiff and unnatural. Face button gameplay feels a bit old-hat.
5.5 Lasting Appeal
The career mode is good for one playthrough, but that’s it. Multiplayer helps, as does the long list of boxers, but in the end you just won’t have much fun here.
